Jon Read is a highly experienced trumpet and flugel horn player, who counts some of the legends of the music world on his CV. Currently the trumpet player for The Specials, Jon also played both trumpet and bass for The Specials Mk2 between 1995-8. He has been a member of Prince Buster's band for over 10 years and also played with Laurel Aitken, Derek Morgan, Jersey Budd and Mellow Harmony, as well as on numerous sessions.
Jon is an active composer, fronting and writing for his own ska band 'Kingsize', with whom he released an album in Nov 09 entitled 'Passport to Ska'. Writing projects also include the album 'Bluebird Parade' with Ming Nagel.
