Jon Stokes is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and Trinity College of Music, where he won an Archer Scholarship to study jazz. He has studied with Mike Hext and Richard Edwards. During his college career Jon helped to form new groups that he still performs with today including ‘The Five Brothers’ and ‘Zone One Brass’.
Jon is also a regular with ‘Majestic Brass’ and the ‘Collegiate Brass Ensemble’. Jon is now a member of the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, combining a busy touring schedule with freelance work around London with the Heritage Orchestra, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Trinity Big Band and the Bridge.
