Mike Poyser has been playing tuba since he was 10 years old. Since leaving the Royal College of Music he has worked with many of the country’s top orchestra, these include the Philharmonia, RPO as well as being on trial with the CBSO and RSNO. As well as playing in orchestras he has also worked in many other diverse ensembles such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, folk bands with Kate Rusby, John McCusker and Phil Cunningham, the Heritage Orchestra, and Hot Chip.
Mike also plays in several chamber ensembles, these include Majestic Brass, Bad Ass Brass and Heavy Metal. Alongside his playing career Mike is also in demand as a workshop leader where he has worked for organisations such as Create, the National Youth Orchestra, the Royal College of Music and the Royal Albert Hall.
